In Echoes in the Dark, monsters only move when you do. This gives you more time to observe the situation, plan your next move with the environment in mind, and then react carefully… standing still will not always save you.
Some encounters force you to keep moving, escape quickly or make decisions under pressure. Knowing when to stop and think, and when to run, is a key part of survival.
Your surroundings can often be used to your advantage. Shooting a bell can temporarily stun nearby creatures, while breaking weakened wooden planks may send enemies falling into hidden pits below.
Listening is just as important as looking. In the darkness, you may not always see what is nearby, but footsteps and other sounds can reveal where a threat is coming from.

COMBAT
Outsmart or fight them to survive.
They move to your rhythm. Conserve ammo, set traps, and think before you take your next step.

PUZZLES
A forgotten cult. Lost faith.
Uncover the truth buried beneath cryptic puzzles and eerie remnants of those who came before.

EXPLORATION
Health and ammo are scarce.
To find more, explore the area, uncover long-buried secrets, and learn what really happened here.

STORY
It all starts with an emergency call.
You came to help someone… but you might end up staying for something else entirely.
“And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.”
Revelation 9:6
As Officer Cooper, what begins as a routine emergency call brings you to an abandoned cemetery in search of someone who may still be alive. But shortly after entering the grounds, it becomes clear that the dead are not the only thing waiting for you.
The cemetery was once connected to a deeply religious community whose faith slowly became twisted into something far more sinister. Beneath its ruined church, forgotten graves and underground crypts are traces of rituals, sacrifices and people who believed they were serving something divine.
Through handwritten notes, abandoned belongings and the remains of those who came before you, you begin to piece together what happened here. Some died trying to escape. Others willingly took part. And some may never have truly left.
Along the way, you will encounter forces that do not seem entirely hostile — including the spirit of a nun whose own past is tied to the cemetery. Whether she can help you understand what is happening, however, is another question.
The deeper you go, the more you discover that the strange rules governing the dead, the rituals performed here and your own arrival may not be unrelated.
You came here because someone asked for help. Finding out who really needed saving is another matter entirely.
“The light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
